In a move to address the backlog of revenue matters and improve public service delivery, the South Andaman District Administration has resolved 79 longstanding land diversion cases through special Revenue Camp Courts in Swaraj Dweep and Shaheed Dweep, chaired by Assistant Commissioner Kamaleshwar Rao S, targeting expedited applications in Sri Vijaya Puram Tehsil. The initiative aims to ensure timely and transparent disposal of pending cases at the field level, improving access for applicants. A special Camp Court held at Swaraj Dweep addressed 65 land diversion cases and 14 additional cases at Shaheed Dweep, aiming to expedite revenue-related matters.
The Administration’s initiative enhances decision-making by providing closer administrative services to the public. Additionally, the Assistant Commissioner inspected the ongoing Modernized Sea Port Terminal project during the visit. Another Camp Court at Swaraj Dweep Police Station resolved 18 UD cases. District Administration reported that Camp Courts have effectively expedited the resolution of pending cases and reduced long-standing revenue matter backlogs. This initiative aims to provide timely relief to applicants and enhance public service efficiency.
As part of a citizen-centric governance approach, the Administration plans to regularly organize similar Camp Courts and outreach programs to further improve accessibility and reduce revenue-related application pendency across the South Andaman District.
