The Andaman & Nicobar AIDS Control Society held a meeting of the Joint Working Group on Youth to review HIV awareness initiatives and plan for the financial year 2026-27. The meeting included Red Ribbon Club Nodal Officers from various colleges and the Project Coordinator of My Bharat Kendra. Dr. Subrata Saha, Project Director of ANACS, praised the Nodal Officers for their effective efforts in conducting HIV awareness activities throughout the year.
During the meeting, it was emphasized to strengthen collaboration between ANACS and various departments, including Sports & Youth Affairs and Education. Integrating HIV/AIDS awareness into sports and youth programmes was highlighted to enhance outreach. Dr. Jahanara Yasmeen presented the Red Ribbon Clubs’ activities and proposed programmes for the financial year 2026-27, followed by discussions on effective execution of these plans.
