India’s star duo, Satwiksairaj and Chirag Shetty, clinched the men’s doubles title at the Singapore Open Badminton tournament. In the final of the competition, the Indian pair faced a strong challenge from Indonesia’s Fajar and Muhammad. Although the Indian pair lost the first game of the match, Satwik and Chirag made a timely comeback from the second game onwards. Following this, they consistently took control of the next two games to eventually win the match with a scoreline of 18–21, 21–19, 21–16 to claim the championship title.
Notably, this is their first-ever Singapore Open title in their careers. Furthermore, they have become the first Indian pair to win the men’s doubles title at the Singapore Open. On the other hand, with this victory, the duo has clinched a title after a long hiatus. The Satwik and Chirag pair was last crowned champions at the Thailand Open in 2024.
