Xiaomi is preparing to accelerate its flagship release timeline in India, with reports indicating that the upcoming Xiaomi 18 series will launch in the country as early as December 2026—roughly two to three months ahead of its traditional spring debut. According to industry leaks, the new lineup is expected to debut in China before making a fast-tracked entry into the Indian market by the end of the year. Beyond the bumped-up schedule, the report highlights a significant shift in Xiaomi’s product hierarchy: the company has reportedly canceled its usual ‘Ultra’ flagship model due to rising component costs, replacing it with a top-tier Xiaomi 18 Pro Max alongside the standard Xiaomi 18 and Xiaomi 18 Pro. The Xiaomi 18 Pro Max is expected to serve as the brand’s main supreme flagship offering, though it will reportedly be available in limited quantities in India. Under the hood, the Xiaomi 18 family is tipped to be among the first devices powered by Qualcomm’s next-generation Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 processor, alongside Leica-tuned camera setups featuring 200-megapixel sensors and substantial battery upgrades. If confirmed, this updated strategy marks a bold move by Xiaomi to capture the premium smartphone market much earlier during the winter upgrade cycle.
