Union Home Minister Amit Shah, addressing a high-energy rally in Siwan on October 24, 2025, declared that Bihar would celebrate its “real Diwali” on November 14 — the day assembly election results are scheduled to be announced. Shah predicted a “humiliating defeat” for the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and its allies, framing the outcome as a symbolic end to what he termed the “jungle raj” era.

Shah’s remarks were directed at RJD’s decision to field Osama Shahab, son of the late gangster-turned-politician Mohammad Shahabuddin, from the Raghunathpur constituency. “People here must ensure that Shahabuddin’s son faces a crushing defeat. Bihar has endured the jungle raj of Lalu Prasad and Rabri Devi for far too long,” Shah said.

He also criticized the Congress party’s ‘Voter Adhikar Yatra,’ alleging that it could open doors for infiltrators and compromise national security. Shah positioned the BJP-led alliance as the only force capable of restoring law and order and delivering development to Bihar.

The rally was part of the BJP’s final campaign push ahead of the state’s assembly elections. Shah’s statements have sparked sharp reactions from opposition leaders, who accused the BJP of using divisive rhetoric and targeting individuals based on family legacy.

Political analysts view Shah’s “real Diwali” comment as a strategic appeal to voters, linking electoral victory with cultural celebration and emotional resonance.
