Hyderabad-based AIG Hospitals has announced an investment of ₹2,000 crore over the next five years to build a greenfield 1,000-bed multispecialty hospital at Endada in Visakhapatnam. The expansion will be executed across two phases, starting with an initial 650-bed phase targeted for completion by October 2028, followed by a second phase adding 350 beds to reach the total capacity. Spread across a nine-acre campus, the project is designed as an integrated healthcare, research, and education hub that will feature over 50 medical and surgical specialties, modular operating rooms, cath labs, endoscopy suites, 150 critical care beds, a 50-bed emergency department, and an outpatient block equipped to handle 5,000 daily consultations. To foster local skills and innovation, the campus will also house a nursing college, a paramedic training center, a research laboratory, an academic block, and an AI center. According to AIG Hospitals Vice-Chairman P V S Raju, the development is expected to generate approximately 9,000 jobs across clinical, technical, administrative, and support roles upon full operation, while employing around 1,000 doctors. The foundation stone ceremony was attended by key dignitaries, including AP Legislative Assembly Speaker Chintakayala Ayyannapatrudu, Visakhapatnam MP Muthukumilli Bharat, Bheemili MLA Ganta Srinivasa Rao, alongside senior AIG Hospitals leadership and district administration officials.
