With comfortable victories, India’s star duo P.V. Sindhu and Lakshya Sen advanced to the quarterfinals of the Singapore Open, whereas H.S. Prannoy made his exit. In today’s match, P.V. Sindhu defeated Japan’s Natsuki Nidaira in just 25 minutes with a scoreline of 21-9, 21-12. Sindhu’s opponent in the quarterfinals is South Korea’s An Se-young.
On the other hand, in the men’s segment, Lakshya Sen won the match after playing just two points. While Lakshya was leading 2-0 against Thailand’s Kunlavut Vitidsarn, the Thai player was forced to leave the court due to an injury. Lakshya’s opponent in the quarterfinals is Japan’s Koki Watanabe.
In another match, Singapore’s star Loh Kean Yew defeated Prannoy after a three-game battle with a scoreline of 21-18, 16-21, 21-15.
Meanwhile, in the mixed doubles category, the duo of Dhruv Kapila and Tanisha Crasto secured their place in the quarterfinals by defeating Japan’s Mayu Matsumoto and Yuta Watanabe in a 8-21, 21-17, 21-15 game.
