ICICI Bank’s stock continued its strong upward momentum, reaching an all-time high of ₹1,526.35 after gaining 2 percent during intraday trading on the BSE on Friday. The private sector lender has experienced a robust rally, rising 7 percent over the past two trading sessions and climbing 10 percent across four consecutive days of gains. This impressive performance easily outpaced the benchmark BSE Sensex, which gained 0.56 percent to reach 79,757 during morning trading. Driven by this sharp price appreciation, ICICI Bank’s total market capitalisation surged toward a historic ₹11 trillion landmark, touching ₹10.96 trillion in intraday deals according to data from the stock exchange. The rally coincided with a substantial influx of foreign capital into Indian equities, as foreign institutional investors (FIIs) and foreign portfolio investors (FPIs) recorded a net investment of ₹14,975 crore on November 5, 2026, marking their largest single-day purchase in nearly six years. Data from the National Securities Depository Limited (NSDL) revealed that cumulative net FPI investments in Indian equities reached ₹22,693 crore by November 5, providing powerful liquidity support to leading large-cap stocks. Market experts attribute ICICI Bank’s sustained outperformance to its strong operational fundamentals, positioning it as a clean play on delivering best-in-class return on assets (ROA). Analysts at Elara Capital noted in their second-quarter earnings update that the bank benefits from an upward turning interest rate cycle, improving business growth across key segments, and lower credit costs that keep return metrics robust. While net interest margins moderated in the third quarter and could face short-term pressure in the fourth quarter, analysts project margin expansion as the rate cycle unfolds, supported by deployment into higher-yielding retail assets. ICICI Bank’s proven track record of disciplined execution, controlled asset quality, and consistent delivery on key operating metrics continue to reinforce investor confidence in its long-term earnings trajectory.
