The Assam Cabinet today adopted a resolution congratulating Prime Minister Narendra Modi on completing 25 continuous years in public office as the head of a government.
Modi was sworn in as the Chief Minister of Gujarat on October 7, 2001, a post in which he continued till 2014, when he became the PM.
 The State Cabinet, under the chairmanship of
Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma meet at Dispur, Guwahati this morning to exclusively to deliberate upon the 25 years of continuous public service of Prime Minister Modi, first as the Chief Minister of Gujarat and thereafter as the Prime Minister of India.
“During its 90-minute long meeting, the State Cabinet deliberated upon his unprecedented and innumerable contributions to the people of Bharat and the profound transformation he has brought to Assam and the North-East during this period, across development, peace and security, connectivity, infrastructure, industry, social sectors, and the preservation and promotion of the region’s rich cultural heritage,” an official statement said.
The Cabinet expressed its deep sense of appreciation and gratitude to the Prime Minister for his visionary leadership, unwavering commitment and dedicated service to the nation, and conveyed its best wishes for the continued progress, prosperity and glory of the Republic of India, Bharat.
“The Cabinet, therefore, placed on record its considered appreciation that, over the past twenty-five years of Narendra Modi’s public life, and particularly during his tenure as Prime Minister, Assam has witnessed a transformation that is simultaneously economic, social, physical, strategic and civilisational. From being viewed largely as a distant frontier, Assam is increasingly emerging as a peaceful, connected, confident and investment-ready State, a gateway to the North-East and an important growth partner in the journey towards a Viksit Bharat,” the statement said.
“The State Cabinet affirms that the people of Assam will continue to contribute wholeheartedly to the national endeavour to build a Viksit Bharat by 2047, drawing inspiration from the principles of Seva, Antyodaya, Jan Bhagidari, Atmanirbhar Bharat and Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikaas. The State Cabinet expresses its confidence that, under the continued leadership of the Prime Minister, Assam and the entire North-East will play an increasingly important role in India’s journey towards becoming a developed, prosperous, peaceful, self-reliant and globally respected nation,” it added.
