Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), India’s largest IT services company, has launched its agentic AI platform, TCS ADD™ AgentHub, aimed at scaling the use of artificial intelligence in drug development. According to the company, the platform is designed to transform clinical trials and pharmacovigilance services while maintaining regulatory and audit requirements. TCS said pharmaceutical companies face significant challenges in deploying AI because of strict regulatory environments, including concerns around trust, governance and scalability. Rapidly growing data volumes, fragmented technology systems and increasingly complex regulatory expectations have added further challenges across the research and development value chain. The new platform is intended to help address these issues by enabling AI agents to support processes across drug development while maintaining the controls required in the pharmaceutical sector. The launch comes as the industry increasingly explores AI to improve efficiency, manage large volumes of data and streamline complex research processes. By combining agentic AI capabilities with governance and compliance requirements, TCS aims to help pharmaceutical companies adopt AI more effectively across clinical development and pharmacovigilance. The initiative marks another step in the growing use of advanced AI technologies to modernise drug research and development.
