Siya was preparing to marry another man as decided by her family while hiding a love affair. Amid that conflict, the Ketan Agarwal murder took place. Now, police investigation has brought these chilling details to light. According to police, at least several members of the family were already aware of accused Siya Goyal’s relationship with co-accused Chetan Choudhury.

As revealed in the police investigation, the Goyal family had learned about Siya’s close relationship with Chetan Choudhury during a cricket tournament held in January this year. However, due to financial disparity between the two families, the relationship was not given importance and Siya’s marriage was fixed with the wealthy Agarwal family.

Investigating officers suspect that the clash between the family-arranged marriage and the secret love affair was the main motive behind the murder.

Meanwhile, Siya’s brother Sahil Goyal was interrogated for nearly ten hours on Friday. According to the police investigation, Sahil knew about his sister’s relationship with Chetan Choudhury. Police are also probing whether he informed other family members about it.

Investigators said that both Siya and Chetan had deleted multiple messages from their mobile phones before and after the incident at Lohagad Fort. To recover those deleted messages, both phones have been sent to the forensic laboratory.

According to police data, Siya and Chetan had been in contact 2,004 times over the phone in the past six months. The total duration of their conversations was about 238 hours. The investigation has also revealed that on the day of the incident, the two met at a cafe and finalized the location and plan to push Ketan at Lohagad Fort.

Meanwhile, investigators claim that Siya, during police interrogation, admitted she disliked Ketan using a hair patch. Responding to this, Ketan’s father said, “Just because my son used a hair patch cannot be any reason to kill him. If she disliked it, she could have rejected the marriage.”

On the other hand, Siya’s mother claimed that Siya was unwilling to go to Lohagad Fort on June 18. According to her, on the evening of June 17, Ketan and his mother had requested Siya to go to the fort together. Siya wanted to rest as there was another family function the next day. But under family pressure, she finally agreed to go.

Ketan’s death was initially presented as an accident, but subsequent investigation led police to suspect it was a premeditated murder. Siya Goyal and Chetan Choudhury are currently in police custody in this case. Pune Rural Police is continuing the investigation.
