Flipkart-owned digital payments platform Super.money is rolling out autonomous artificial intelligence agents capable of shopping for products and buying digital gold, aiming to differentiate itself in India’s competitive fintech market. Currently serving about 20 million monthly active users, the platform has initiated the rollout of these consumer payment agents—built in partnership with merchants—and plans to reach its entire user base over the next two months. Chief Executive Officer Prakash Sikaria revealed to Bloomberg that the initiative begins with agentic shopping on Flipkart and automated gold purchases triggered when prices drop to customer-defined thresholds. Super.money intends to expand these AI assistants beyond Flipkart to handle broader online shopping, bill payments, and investment transactions, leveraging value-focused automation for price-conscious Indian consumers. While the initial feature is free, the fintech plans to monetize the technology through subscription models as adoption grows. The company is allocating approximately 20% of its engineering budget this year toward scaling consumer agents, projecting that agentic use cases could account for 30% to 40% of organizational revenues within three to four years. Launched in 2024 with services including UPI payments, credit cards, loans, and fixed deposits, Super.money is leveraging this agentic push to accelerate product innovation and capture market share from major rivals like Google Pay and Paytm.
