Disaster struck on their way back home after reuniting to celebrate the joy of Raksha Bandhan. In a horrific road accident in Faridabad, Haryana, on Saturday morning, three siblings from the same family were tragically killed and another was seriously injured. A speeding luxury vehicle hit all four of them with great force while they were standing and talking on the roadside and then fled the scene.
According to details of the incident, on the occasion of Rakhi, three siblings — Avdhesh, Saroj and Rajkumari, residents of Kulela village in Palwal district — had gone to the house of their relative brother Akhilesh in Faridabad on Friday. After spending the night there, on Saturday morning the three were about to return home and brother Akhilesh came to see them off to the bus stand.
While they were waiting and talking at the bus stand, a reckless Fortuner vehicle coming from the opposite direction suddenly mowed them down.
As a result of the accident, Akhilesh and Avdhesh died on the spot. Seriously injured Saroj was taken to hospital but she also died before reaching the hospital. Meanwhile, the fourth sister Rajkumari has been admitted to hospital in a critical condition.
According to local residents, such accidents have occurred near the said bus stand before, but the administration has not taken any strict action. In the preliminary investigation, police have identified the vehicle involved in the accident as belonging to a private company and police have continued their operation to trace the absconding driver.
