Cachar Police has taken a tough stance against fake medical practices and fraud being carried out in the name of treatment. As part of an ongoing special drive across the district, police arrested two alleged fake doctors on Friday.
Based on two separate cases, Sonai and Silchar police apprehended the two accused. According to police, 53-year-old Biswajit Singh, a resident of Bantarapur under Kachudaram Police Station, was arrested in connection with a case registered at Sonai Police Station. In another case registered at Silchar Police Station, 26-year-old Bikram Singh, a resident of Manipur Basti in Tarapur, was also arrested.
Cases have been registered against both under Sections 316(2), 319(2), 336(2), 340(2), 125, and 271 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Cachar Police said the special drive will continue in the coming days to curb fraud through fake medical practices in the health sector and to ensure the safety of the lives and health of the general public.
