In view of the upcoming Sonowal Kachari Autonomous Council elections, the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) has constituted the “Sonowal Kachari Autonomous Council State Coordination Committee” with immediate effect.
Approved by Assam PCC President Gaurav Gogoi, the committee appoints Sailen Sonowal as Adviser, Polly Hazarika as Chairman, Pratim Sonowal as Coordinator, and Pranjal Saikia along with Shiba Baruah as Joint Coordinators.
In addition, 45 other members have been included, taking the total strength to 50 office bearers and members. Comprising representatives from districts including Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, Dhemaji, Jorhat, Golaghat, Sivasagar, and Lakhimpur, the committee is slated to formulate key strategies to secure victory for the Congress party in the upcoming council elections.
