Chandan Rungta, CEO of Zepto’s meat business, has resigned less than a year into his tenure, sources told Moneycontrol. Zepto confirmed that Rungta, who joined in December, has stepped down. The move comes as the company continues to expand its meat business, which initially grew through its private label, Relish. To sustain growth, Zepto reintroduced Licious, a leading meat brand, alongside Relish, responding to feedback that premium consumers preferred Licious while mass-premium customers favored Relish.

Zepto has also seen several senior employees exit recently. Chandresh Dedhia, VP and head of IT, left within a year of joining in December 2024. Apoorv Pandey, SVP of strategy, departed shortly after Shashank Shekhar Sharma, CXO of Zepto Cafe, quit in October. Sharma had been with Zepto for over three years, playing a key role in scaling Zepto Cafe.

Other early employees and mid-management staff, including Anant Rastogi, Suraj Sipani, Vijay Bandhiya, and Roshan Shaikh, have also left, with many exits aligning with their ESOP vesting cycles, highlighting a significant reshuffle within the company.
