In an exclusive interview, actress Wamiqa Gabbi reflected on her journey through the highs and lows of the film industry, sharing candid insights into her personal and professional struggles. From early rejections to recent acclaim, Gabbi spoke about how each setback shaped her growth and why she remains grateful for every part of her path.

Gabbi, who began her career with a brief role in Jab We Met (2007), rose to prominence with the Punjabi film Tu Mera 22 Main Tera 22 and later ventured into Tamil cinema. Her performances in Vikramaditya Motwane’s Jubilee and Vishal Bhardwaj’s Khufiya marked turning points, earning her critical praise and industry recognition.

Her latest release, Bhool Chuk Maaf, co-starring Rajkummar Rao, has received an overwhelming response. Gabbi shared that watching the film with her family in Chandigarh was a deeply emotional experience, especially seeing her father laugh and cry during her scenes.

In the interview, she recalled moments when she considered quitting acting, feeling disheartened by the lack of opportunities and industry politics. “I used to wish I was born into a film family or had more money to survive in Mumbai,” she said. “But now I thank God for the hardships. They grounded me and taught me what truly matters.”

Gabbi also addressed fan comparisons to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, particularly for her expressive eyes. While flattered, she humbly dismissed the comparison, saying she grew up admiring Aishwarya and is simply grateful for the love she receives.

Despite facing rejections even after her breakthrough in Jubilee, Gabbi emphasized the importance of resilience and self-belief. “As an outsider, every film is a test. You might not get a second chance, so you give your best every time,” she said. “I wouldn’t change a thing about my journey.”

The actress concluded by highlighting the value of relationships, humility, and staying grounded, even as her dreams begin to materialize.
