In the wake of catastrophic floods that have devastated large parts of Punjab, several Bollywood celebrities have come forward to express solidarity and extend support to affected communities. The deluge—caused by heavy rainfall in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir—has led to the overflow of the Sutlej, Beas, and Ravi rivers, impacting over 1,000 villages and damaging more than 61,000 hectares of farmland across districts including Gurdaspur, Fazilka, Kapurthala, Tarn Taran, Ferozepur, Hoshiarpur, and Amritsar.
Actor Vicky Kaushal took to social media to share his concern, writing, “Scrolling seeing all that’s happening in Punjab and other regions in the north… villages flooded, people suffering. Praying for all those who are affected. Rabb meher bakshe.” He also saluted volunteers working on the ground, calling them “Rabb de bande” and emphasized the need for long-term recovery efforts.
Actress Bhumi Pednekar echoed similar sentiments, posting on Instagram, “Praying for everyone in all the flood-hit areas,” and urged her followers to contribute to relief efforts.
Punjabi superstar Diljit Dosanjh is actively monitoring the situation in the Majha region and has tasked his team with preparing a long-term rehabilitation plan. Singer-actor Gippy Grewal has dispatched truckloads of silage to feed stranded cattle, addressing a critical but often overlooked need during natural disasters.
Rapper Karan Aujla has donated a motorboat to an NGO in Ludhiana to assist with rescue operations, stating, “Real recovery begins after the waters recede,” and calling for sustained support.
Actor Sonu Sood, known for his humanitarian work, released a heartfelt video pledging unwavering support. “Punjab is my soul. Even if it takes everything, I will not back down. We are Punjabis—we do not give up,” he said. His sister Malvika Sood has been distributing relief material, and the Sood Charity Foundation has launched a dedicated helpline (+91 7888675107) for flood victims.
Singer Jasbir Jassi has been actively urging donations and revealed that Bollywood stars including Salman Khan and Sanjay Dutt have promised to contribute to Punjab’s recovery efforts.
The collective response from the entertainment industry has been widely appreciated, offering both emotional and material support to thousands of families grappling with loss and displacement. Relief operations continue across the state, with calls for more public and private participation to accelerate rehabilitation.
