The Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services conducted a two-day training program on scientific goat rearing and management in Rangat, aiming to enhance livestock productivity and promote sustainable livelihoods among local farmers. The program involved active participation from farmers, and veterinary experts provided in-depth knowledge on goat management, child care, housing systems, and balanced feeding practices. Emphasis was placed on timely vaccinations for disease prevention and herd management.

The AH&VS Department has conducted training on scientific methods for goat rearing in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands. The training aims to equip farmers with skills to overcome challenges, boost economic returns, and contribute to food and nutritional security through protein-rich goat products. The initiative reflects the Department’s commitment to strengthening animal husbandry and the growing interest in modern livestock practices. The training programs will be extended to other islands.
