Triumph Motorcycles India has introduced the Thruxton 400 in the Indian market, priced at ₹2.74 lakh (ex-showroom). This marks the brand’s first café racer built on the 400cc platform and is the fifth model in its 400cc lineup, joining the Speed 400, Scrambler 400 X, Scrambler 400 XC, and Speed T4. While it shares some components with the Speed 400, the Thruxton 400 stands out with unique design and performance features.
The bike sports a semi-fairing that stretches from the base of the fuel tank to the headlight. It includes a slim fuel tank, a round headlamp with integrated LED daytime running lights, and a redesigned tail lamp. Riders have the option to replace the pillion seat with a seat cowl.
Designed to embody the café racer style, the Thruxton 400 comes with clip-on handlebars, a windscreen, and bar-end mirrors. The footpeg placement encourages a forward-leaning riding position. It is available in four colour schemes: Lava Red Gloss with Aluminium Silver, Pearl Metallic White with Storm Grey, Metallic Racing Yellow with Aluminium Silver, and Phantom Black with Aluminium Silver.
For suspension, the bike features USD telescopic front forks with longer travel than the Speed 400, a rear mono-shock, and disc brakes on both wheels equipped with dual-channel ABS. It rides on 17-inch alloy wheels.
