Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce caused a storm on social media with their engagement announcement, now the Kansas City Chiefs star is finally revealing what his life will be like after the engagement. In a teaser for the latest episode of the New Heights podcast he co-hosts with his brother Jason Kelce, the 35-year-old tight end offered a glimpse into this new chapter of his life. “I’m grateful to everyone who has reached out to me and sent something, all the posts and all the excitement that’s been going on,” Travis said. “It’s been really fun to tell everyone who I’m going to spend the rest of my life with.”
Jason wasted no time teasing his younger brother over the big news, saying: “Travis, we’ll have to talk about that.” Travis jokingly replied: “I don’t think we should talk about that.” But Jason couldn’t help himself and said, “If you haven’t seen the Instagram post heard round the world, tell me Travis and Taylor are engaged! Wow!” Travis praised the overwhelming response, calling it “exciting” and “amazing”. He also recalled a recent moment on the pitch: “Actually, I felt that way during the game. I introduced Taylor to some of my teammates for the first time as my fiancée. So yeah, it was pretty cool.”
When asked if he still gets happy saying the word “fiancée”, Travis couldn’t hide his smile: “Yeah, I do. I still get happy and exciting moments.” The NFL star also offered some heartwarming advice for anyone who is considering proposing. According to People, he said, “Man, you have to know your girlfriends. You have to know your girlfriends or your partner. Don’t think that because of how someone else is doing things, you should do it the same way… I would just say know your partner, know who you’re doing it for and do it for the right reasons.”
Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce announced their engagement on August 26 with a joint Instagram post captioned, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.” The post, which featured Travis Kelce getting down on one knee surrounded by flowers, broke engagement records on social media.
