The Transport Department has successfully conducted its first-ever Road Safety Awareness Camp at Swaraj Dweep, aiming to educate residents and tourists on safe driving practices and traffic regulations.
The event featured interactive sessions, live demonstrations, and awareness drives led by transport officials and road safety experts. Participants were informed about speed limits, helmet and seatbelt usage, pedestrian safety, and emergency response measures. Special emphasis was placed on reducing accidents involving two-wheelers and ensuring compliance with traffic laws.
The initiative aligns with the broader National Road Safety Campaign, which seeks to minimize road accidents and fatalities through education, enforcement, and infrastructure improvements. The Transport Department plans to expand such awareness programs to other regions, ensuring that road safety remains a priority for all road users.
