The Department of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services conducted a Veterinary Health and Infertility Camp in Delanipur, India, on July 31, 2025, aimed at improving livestock health and supporting rural livelihoods by addressing infertility issues. Twenty adult cattle, ten calves, twenty-seven female cattle, and one heifer were among the thirty-one cattle that were inspected and treated during the camp. Numerous health and reproductive disorders, including mastitis, anoestrus, cervicitis, and metritis, were identified and treated by veterinary specialists. Buserelin Acetate, Amoxycillin with Sulbactam, Meloxicam, Albendazole, and Oxyclozanide liquid dewormers were among the treatments administered. Additionally, farmers received mineral powders, milk production enhancement powders, and digestive supplements to support improved overall animal health and milk output.
The program emphasized the value of focused veterinarian care in resolving reproductive issues, enhancing animal health, and eventually boosting financial gains for farmers. The program encouraged sustainable animal husbandry methods and guaranteed prompt treatment by delivering veterinarian services right to farmers’ doorsteps. Local farmers’ enthusiastic involvement demonstrated their dedication to enhancing animal care. In keeping with the A&N Administration’s overarching goal of advancing sustainable agriculture and bolstering rural livelihoods throughout the Islands, the AH&VS Department has reaffirmed its commitment to carrying out such outreach programs in other wards.
