Teja Sajja’s upcoming Telugu-language fantasy action film Mirai is off to a promising start in the United States, with advance ticket sales crossing the $200,000 mark ahead of its premiere on September 11. The film is scheduled for a global theatrical release on September 12, and early indicators suggest a robust international opening.
According to overseas distributor Shloka Entertainments, the North American pre-sales reflect strong audience anticipation, particularly among Telugu-speaking diaspora and fans of the genre. The film has sold over 6,000 tickets across 219 locations, with numbers expected to climb as premiere day approaches.
Directed by Karthik Gattamneni and produced by TG Vishwa Prasad and Krithi Prasad under the People Media Factory banner, Mirai stars Teja Sajja, Manchu Manoj, Ritika Nayak, Shriya Saran, Jagapathi Babu, and Jayaram. The film blends Indian mythology with futuristic storytelling, following a street-smart protagonist who discovers he is the key to protecting nine sacred books linked to Emperor Ashoka.
The production boasts high-end visual effects, stylized action choreography, and Dolby Atmos sound design. Costume design, art direction, and post-production have been handled by a team of seasoned professionals, with music composed by Gowra Hari.
Following the blockbuster success of HanuMan in 2024, which grossed over $5 million in North America, Teja Sajja has emerged as a rising star in the pan-Indian superhero genre. Industry observers are closely watching Mirai to see if it can replicate or surpass the performance of its predecessor.
The film’s post-theatrical digital rights have already been acquired by JioHotstar, ensuring a wide OTT rollout after its cinema run. Distributors including Karan Johar (Hindi), Hombale Films (Kannada), and AGS Cinemas (Tamil) are backing the film’s multilingual release across India.
With strong pre-release momentum and a high-concept narrative, Mirai is poised to be one of the most significant Telugu releases of 2025.
