The Sri Vijaya Puram Municipal Council was awarded the “Promising Swachh Shehar” category at the Swachh Survekshan Awards ceremony in New Delhi. The award recognizes cities’ efforts to meet cleanliness and sanitation standards, focusing on waste management, sanitation infrastructure, and citizen participation. The Chairperson of SVPMC, Mr. S. Shahul Hammed, accepted the award. The Chief Secretary of A&N Administration, Dr. Bhushan Kumar, IAS, was informed about the award and presented mementos and certificates.
