Special screening campaigns (2)

By March 31, 2025, the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare hopes to get 100% of people aged 30 and older screened for diabetes, hypertension, and the three main cancers—cervical, breast, and oral—as part of a massive public health campaign. From February 20 to March 31, 2025, a Special Screening Drive will be held in all government healthcare facilities in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands as part of this mission. To ensure that the greatest number of at-risk persons are covered, the program seeks to increase both population-based and opportunistic screenings.

The government’s commitment to accessible and preventive healthcare has been reaffirmed with the activation of screening services in all healthcare facilities, including those in distant and island locations, to aid in this endeavor. The public is being encouraged by authorities to utilize the free screening services offered by the closest medical facilities. It is anticipated that early diagnosis made possible by this program will be essential to lowering the burden of non-communicable diseases and enhancing public health outcomes. In order to achieve 100% screening coverage and guarantee a healthy, disease-free future for the country, the ministry has emphasized the need of public participation.
