Shah Rukh Khan’s trainer Prashant Sawant opens up about the actor’s workout routine and his decades-old discipline.
Shah Rukh Khan, who has been synonymous with romantic roles throughout his career, turned to action with films like Pathan and Jawaan in 2023. The 58-year-old actor made it his mission to work on his body and in a recent interview, his fitness trainer Prashant Sawant said that Shah Rukh did a lot of preparation during the pandemic.
Prashant has had a 20-year-old relationship with Shah Rukh and in a conversation with Pinkvilla, he recalled that when they first met, Shah Rukh was injured. He said, “After Ashoka, we got a call from Shah Rukh sir when he had injured his leg, so that’s where the journey began.” Prashant said that Shah Rukh has the “right mindset” to work out and the star has largely maintained this discipline for the last 20 years.
Talking about SRK’s workout sessions, Prashant said, “He is a sportsman and he loves to sweat it out. If he is not sweating, he doesn’t enjoy working out. It can be anything, whether he is playing or doing any exercise, sweating is a must. And it helps his body. We work out for 45 minutes every day and focus on one part of the body. We do it regularly, we do it at least 4-5 days a week.”
Prashant said that Shah Rukh has suffered many injuries to his body and both of them work together to heal it. “We struggle to heal the body. We work as a team for his body because sometimes I need his help in his mindset and understanding, so we work together on his body. We make strategies and in the process, he sometimes makes a six pack and sometimes an eight,” he shared.
Shah Rukh Khan will next be seen in Sujoy Ghosh’s film King alongside Suhana Khan and Abhishek Bachchan.
