Hyderabad, July 27 — Actress Rashmika Mandanna has officially begun shooting for her upcoming pan-India film Mysaa, following a grand muhurat puja ceremony held in Hyderabad. The emotional action thriller, written and directed by Rawindra Pulle, is set in the culturally rich world of the Gond tribes and features Mandanna in a bold, transformative role unlike any she has portrayed before.

The launch event was attended by key members of the production team, including producers Anil and Ajay Sayyapureddy of Unformula Films, director Hanu Raghavapudi, and cinematographer Shreyaas P Krishna. The inaugural clap was given by veteran producer Suresh Babu, while the camera was switched on by Ravi Kiran Kola. Principal photography commenced immediately after the ceremony, with Mandanna joining the cast from the first schedule.

Mysaa is being mounted on a large scale with a robust budget and will be released in Telugu, Tamil, Hindi, Malayalam, and Kannada. Mandanna plays a Gond woman, a character described as fierce, emotionally intense, and physically demanding. The film’s action sequences are choreographed by internationally acclaimed stunt director Andy Long, known for his work on Kalki 2898 AD.

The first-look poster, unveiled earlier, features Mandanna in a blood-streaked tribal avatar, draped in traditional attire and adorned with symbolic ornaments, including a moon-shaped bindi. The actress expressed excitement and nervousness about the role, calling it a version of herself she had never met before.

Director Rawindra Pulle stated that Mysaa is the result of two years of meticulous development, aiming to authentically capture the aesthetics and spirit of the Gond community. The production house has hinted at further major announcements, including the reveal of the film’s music director, in the coming days.
