Rahul Gandhi has embarked on a two-day visit to Gujarat, aiming to rejuvenate the Congress party’s presence in the state. His agenda includes meetings with senior Congress leaders, former state presidents, and opposition leaders to strategize for the 2027 Gujarat Assembly elections. The Congress party, which has faced significant challenges in Gujarat, is looking to rebuild its strength under Gandhi’s leadership.

During his visit, Gandhi is also engaging with district and city Congress presidents, as well as taluka and municipality chiefs. He plans to interact with representatives of social organizations and address party workers in Ahmedabad. This visit marks the beginning of Congress’s campaign efforts for the upcoming elections, with a focus on reconnecting with grassroots leaders and addressing organizational challenges.

The visit also coincides with preparations for the All India Congress Committee (AICC) session, scheduled to be held in Ahmedabad after 64 years. This session is seen as a significant step in the party’s efforts to regain its footing in Gujarat, a state that has been under BJP rule since 1995.
