Congress leader Rahul Gandhi was prevented from entering the Ambedkar Hostel in Darbhanga, where he was scheduled to interact with students as part of the Shiksha Nyay Samvad initiative. The incident led to protests from Congress leaders, who accused the administration of obstructing the event.

The Bihar administration had reportedly denied permission for the event at the hostel, citing procedural concerns. Instead, officials had allocated Town Hall as an alternative venue. However, Congress leaders insisted on holding the interaction at the originally planned location, leading to a confrontation between party members and security personnel.

Despite the blockade, Rahul Gandhi proceeded on foot towards the hostel, accompanied by supporters. Addressing the crowd, he criticized the JD(U)-BJP government, alleging that it was attempting to suppress voices advocating for education justice and social equality. He reiterated his demand for a caste-based census and reservation in private educational institutions, asserting that the government was reluctant to implement these reforms.

The Darbhanga district administration later announced that legal action might be taken against Rahul Gandhi for allegedly violating CrPC norms by addressing students without official permission. Authorities cited Section 163, which governs procedural restrictions on public gatherings.
