Priyanka Chopra reunited with Jimmy Fallon, revealing she accidentally offended John Cena and how her daughter Malti is crazy about K-pop, Moana and calls the Jonas Brothers the “donut brothers”.
Priyanka Chopra reunited with one of her favourite talk show hosts, Jimmy Fallon, on The Tonight Show. The actor, who is currently promoting his upcoming film Heads of State alongside Idris Elba and John Cena, opened up about life with her daughter Malti, which was her first appearance on the show since becoming a mother. During the chat, Priyanka revealed how the family stayed in New York for a while due to Nick’s Broadway schedule, while she kept travelling to and from India for shooting. Priyanka Chopra reveals she got ‘pissed off’ by John Cena
While talking about her upcoming action-comedy Heads of State, Priyanka Chopra revealed that John Cena turned out to be the exact opposite of what she expected. “They are both the most incredible people,” Priyanka said. “I was so nervous,” she recalled meeting him for the first time. “John is the exact opposite of what I expected,” she added. “I had never met him before.” On the other hand, she shared that she has known Idris for a while and is friends with his wife. Since she had never met Cena, she decided to start the conversation with a joke: “You know, I came in expecting not to see him,” referencing the iconic “You can’t see me” meme. Even Jimmy Fallon paused for a second before understanding the sarcasm and apologised for not getting the joke right away.
She said, “The first scene that we were doing together, I just tried to do it – I posed in front of him like ‘I’m not looking at you’.” John and Idris were standing next to each other at the time. While she was posing, Idris signalled her to stop and asked her not to do it in front of John.
“I thought I offended him,” Priyanka said. Later, Idris told her that Cena doesn’t like it at all when someone poses like that in front of him. The whole incident left him sweating profusely.
Priyanka Chopra said Malti’s favourite song is APT
Talking about Malti, she called her extraordinary, funny and “a bit of a comedian”, and said, “She’s the light of our lives.” Later, when Jimmy asked if she got caught up in listening to baby music, Priyanka laughed and said that Malti’s love for music spanned across genres. The Citadel star revealed that Malti is obsessed with the American animated musical adventure film Moana and while talking about her recent trip to Disney World, she said, “She wears Moana’s dress all day and Moana 2 is her favourite.” She further added that her daughter has a different understanding of music. “She listens to APT, it’s her favourite song by the way,” she said, even singing the hook line of the song with Jimmy. “Every morning,” she added, and added that it’s her morning song. Hearing this, a curious Jimmy asked if she has listened to any of her father’s stuff, any of the Jonas Brothers songs. Priyanka replied, “I guess she doesn’t recognise them,” but added, “She calls them the Donut Brothers,” which made everyone laugh. “Would you trademark that name right now?” Jimmy teasingly suggested that they should actually make merch out of it, and said that he would buy it like the ‘Labubu’ doll.
Priyanka also shared how they have now settled down on the East Coast for the summer, where Malti has her own small group of friends, calling her very sociable and adding, “Her schedule is crazier than mine. There are so many classes. The kids do so much. She wants to mingle with the other kids.” Earlier, Nick had also revealed that they are sending her to learn karate and piano. “She’s in nursery school here in New York. She has her own little friend group, and she’s so fun. We’ve also sent her to a lot of classes,” he revealed. “These little kids have a much busier schedule than I do.”
