Kausar Jahan, the chairperson of the Delhi Hajj Committee, paid a visit to the Bhagwat Dham Vriddh Ashram in Mayur Vihar Phase 1 on Tuesday, the day before Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday. She presented saris to the women and dhotis to the men as part of the celebration, fed meals to the senior inhabitants, and asked for their blessings. “A Sewa Pakhwada (Service Fortnight) is being observed nationwide on the Prime Minister’s 75th birthday,” stated Kausar Jahan.
I visited this senior living facility as part of that in order to interact with the residents, receive their blessings, and provide them with meals. We wanted to do something personal and meaningful to commemorate. “I wish PM Modi good health and a long life,” she continued. We are honoring his commitment to public service with this tiny gift. The senior citizens conveyed their happiness and gratitude. “Congratulations on PM Modi’s birthday,” a man who was 104 years old said. For the first time, a Sewa Pakhwada is being watched with such consideration.
To commemorate the Prime Minister’s birthday, the BJP is organizing a statewide Sewa Pakhwada from September 17 to October 2. Mahatma Gandhi’s and Lal Bahadur Shastri’s birth anniversaries will mark the end of the two-week service. During a news conference at the BJP headquarters, Union Minister Bhupender Yadav had said that the Sewa Pakhwada would have a number of programs aimed at including people from different backgrounds. These consist of health camps and blood drives, cleaning campaigns, exhibitions, debate programs, and the “Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam” campaign.
