New Delhi, July 12 — Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday distributed over 51,000 appointment letters to newly recruited candidates across various Central government departments during the 16th edition of the Rozgar Mela, held simultaneously at 47 locations nationwide via video conferencing.
Addressing the appointees, Modi underscored the transformative power of India’s youth, calling them the “capital and guarantee” of the nation’s future. “India has the largest youth population and the largest democracy. This strength is our most cherished wealth,” he said, adding that the government is working tirelessly to convert this demographic advantage into prosperity.
The recruits will join key ministries including Railways, Home Affairs, Health and Family Welfare, Posts, Financial Services, and Labour and Employment, among others. Modi highlighted the diverse roles the new employees will play—from bolstering national security and financial inclusion to advancing healthcare and industrial development. “Your departments may differ, but your mission is one—service to the nation and Citizen First,” he stated.
The Prime Minister also reflected on his recent five-nation tour, noting that global leaders acknowledged India’s youth potential. Agreements signed during the trip are expected to benefit sectors such as defence, pharmaceuticals, digital technology, energy, and rare earth minerals, creating new opportunities for young Indians.
Since its launch in October 2022, the Rozgar Mela initiative has facilitated the issuance of over 10 lakh appointment letters, streamlining recruitment and enhancing public service delivery across India. Modi reiterated the government’s commitment to transparent hiring, citing the motto “Bina Parchi, Bina Kharchi” (without recommendation, without expense).
The Prime Minister concluded by encouraging the new recruits to embrace their roles with dedication and pride, stating, “You are not just joining a job—you are joining a mission to build a developed and self-reliant India.”
