In a continued effort to safeguard public property and preserve community spaces, the District Administration of South Andaman has ramped up its crackdown on illegal encroachments across the region.

On May 22, a coordinated eviction drive was conducted in North Bay Village, leading to the successful removal of encroachments along the newly developed North Bay Road.

The operation, led by Revenue Department officials, was carried out with critical support from the South Andaman Police and personnel from the Andaman Public Works Department (APWD). During the drive, approximately 500 square meters of government revenue land were reclaimed and restored to the official government record (Khaata).

Authorities have stressed the importance of protecting public infrastructure from unauthorized occupation and have issued a stern warning to residents against illegal encroachments. The District Administration has made it clear that strict legal action will be taken against violators.

To encourage public cooperation, officials have urged citizens to report illegal constructions or land grabs through the District Control Room at 03192-240127, 238881, or 1070. Additionally, information can be shared via WhatsApp 9531888844, with assurances that all reports will be handled with complete confidentiality to protect informants.

The District Administration has confirmed that eviction drives will continue in the coming days as part of a broader initiative to ensure the lawful use of government land and its proper utilization for community welfare.
