Reflecting India’s growing economic interests in the African continent, Air India today announced the commencement of direct non-stop flights from New Delhi to Nairobi, Lagos, and Addis Ababa starting next month. The expansion is part of a broader strategic initiative to facilitate easier travel for business delegations and the growing Indian diaspora in East and West Africa. Civil Aviation officials noted that these routes are expected to cut travel time by nearly 40% compared to traditional layover routes through the Middle East.
