New Delhi, October 13, 2025 — Indian fast bowler Mohammed Siraj has emerged as the highest wicket-taker in Test cricket for the year 2025, surpassing Zimbabwe’s Blessing Muzarabani during the second Test against the West Indies at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.

Siraj achieved the milestone on Day 4 of the match by dismissing centurion Shai Hope for 103 runs in the second session. With this wicket, Siraj’s tally for the year rose to 37 wickets from eight matches, edging past Muzarabani’s 36 wickets from nine matches.

The Hyderabad-born pacer has bowled 1,575 deliveries (262.3 overs) in 2025, maintaining an average of 26.91 and an economy rate of 3.79. His best bowling figures this year stand at 6 for 70. He has also recorded two four-wicket hauls and two five-wicket hauls, showcasing his consistency and impact across formats.

Siraj’s performance includes a standout series against England, where he claimed 23 wickets in five Tests. His ability to generate movement and maintain pressure has made him a key asset in India’s bowling attack, especially in home conditions.
