Arvind Kejriwal, the national convenor of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), criticized the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for what he described as a superficial homage to Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. Speaking at an event commemorating Ambedkar’s birth anniversary, Kejriwal accused the BJP of bowing to Ambedkar “out of compulsion” while failing to uphold his ideals, particularly in the field of education.

Kejriwal emphasized that AAP strives to follow Ambedkar’s principles in governance, focusing on quality education and social unity. He claimed that the BJP-led Delhi government has halted educational schemes initiated by the previous AAP administration, undermining Ambedkar’s vision. Kejriwal challenged the BJP to name a state under its rule where significant progress has been made in education, asserting that the party lacks the will to improve the sector.

Delhi AAP chief Saurabh Bharadwaj echoed Kejriwal’s sentiments, highlighting AAP’s commitment to Ambedkar’s ideals of equality and justice. Bharadwaj accused the BJP of exploiting divisions for political gain and failing to prioritize education, a core principle of Ambedkar’s philosophy.

Ambedkar, born in 1891, was a pioneering jurist, social reformer, and the chief architect of the Indian Constitution. His legacy continues to inspire debates on social justice and governance in India.
