Mumbai, August 13, 2025 — In celebration of India’s 79th Independence Day, JioHotstar has announced a platform-wide initiative titled ‘Operation Tiranga’, offering full-day free access to its entire content library on August 15. The campaign aims to honour the spirit of freedom by removing all barriers to content access, allowing viewers across India to stream unlimited shows, movies, and specials without a subscription.
Under the theme “Tiranga Ek, Kahaniyaan Anek” (One Tricolour, Many Stories), the curated line-up draws inspiration from the Indian flag:
- Saffron: Stories of courage and covert heroism, including titles like Take Off, Madras Cafe, and IB71
- White: Narratives of sacrifice and resilience, such as Neerja, Mangal Pandey: The Rising, Salakaar, and Chandrashekhar
- Green: Films rooted in cultural pride and legacy, including Kesari 2, Airlift, and Sarzameen
The platform’s interface will be reimagined for the day, greeting users with a splash screen reflecting the colours and spirit of India. JioHotstar has also partnered with the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting to promote flag etiquette awareness, blending entertainment with education and national pride.
Minakshi Achan, Head – Brand & Creative at JioStar, said, “Operation Tiranga celebrates the spirit of Independence Day and removes all barriers to access, allowing every viewer to discover stories that reflect the courage, resilience, and identity of the nation.”
The campaign will be amplified across digital platforms, outdoor media, social channels, and primetime TV spots, making it one of the most visible Independence Day initiatives in the OTT space.
