The Israeli Foreign Ministry has organized a special screening of the film The Diplomat, starring John Abraham, as a gesture to welcome India’s new envoy to Israel, JP Singh. This event underscores the strong bilateral ties between India and Israel. The film is based on a real-life incident involving Singh, highlighting his diplomatic achievements and the strength of Indian diplomacy.

Nurit Tinari, Head of the Israeli Foreign Ministry’s Cultural Division, described the screening as a historic premiere, marking the first time the film is shown outside India. Israeli Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, along with members of the foreign diplomatic corps and other dignitaries, will attend the event. The screening aims to celebrate the robust relationship between the two nations.

Directed by Shivam Nair, The Diplomat portrays the challenges Singh faced in navigating international diplomacy, the Pakistani legal system, and governmental pressures to rescue an Indian citizen in distress. The film, which released in India on March 14, 2025, has been praised for its depiction of the complexities of diplomacy and the resilience of Indian officials.
