
The Island Coconut Festival 2025 is set to take place at the ITF Pavilion, Sri Vijaya Puram, on May 31 and June 1, 2025. Organized by the Andaman & Nicobar Tourism Department, the festival aims to promote coconut-based tourism and livelihoods, highlighting the traditional and modern uses of coconut in food, crafts, and wellness.
The festival will feature interactive exhibitions, tasting zones, and competitions, offering visitors an immersive experience. Some of the key events include:
- Coconut Rangoli Competition – A creative showcase of artistic designs using coconut-based materials.
- Coconut De-husking Challenge – A test of skill and speed in removing coconut husks.
- Cooking Competition – Participants will prepare dishes using coconut, with plating and garnishing done on-site.
Winners of these competitions will receive cash prizes from the Tourism Department.
The festival will host government stalls showcasing coconut-based products deeply rooted in local traditions and economic practices. Additionally, food and general stalls will be available for vendors, with stall applications open until May 29, 2025.
The stall charges are as follows:
- Food stalls – ₹4,500 (for two days)
- General stalls – ₹3,500 (for two days)
- Kiosk (food) – ₹450 (for two days)
- Kiosk (general) – ₹400 (for two days)
Stalls will be allotted through a lottery system, ensuring a fair selection process.
A Creative Kids’ Zone will be set up in collaboration with the Education Department, offering engaging activities for children. Interested kids can register and report to the venue on May 30, 2025, by 3:00 PM.
