India and Pakistan have agreed to a full ceasefire, following a direct conversation between the Directors General of Military Operations (DGMO) of both nations.
On May 10, at 3:35 PM IST, Pakistan’s DGMO called India’s DGMO to discuss the ongoing military tensions. After deliberations, both sides agreed to halt all military action on land, air, and sea, effective 5 PM IST.
India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri confirmed the agreement in a press briefing, stating that instructions have been issued to enforce the ceasefire immediately.
The DGMOs of both nations will hold another round of discussions on May 12 at 12 PM IST, to further assess the situation and ensure compliance.
Earlier, former US President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social that India and Pakistan had agreed to a full and immediate ceasefire after US-mediated talks.
The ceasefire marks a significant step toward de-escalation, though experts remain cautious about its long-term stability.
