In Kopargaon, Maharashtra, Union Home Minister Amit Shah opened the nation’s first cooperative compressed biogas plant and emphasized the “farmer-centric” policies of the Narendra Modi administration. In India’s endeavors to advance green energy and fortify the cooperative sector, the facility represents a critical turning point. The Union Minister described it as a “proud moment for the nation” and claimed that the cooperative movement has become a catalyst for rural economic empowerment thanks to Prime Minister Modi’s agenda.

“PM Modi started a fresh lifeline for the nation’s rural economy by creating the cooperative sector. A solid foundation for India’s prosperity is the cooperative sector,” he continued. According to the Union Home Minister, 15 cooperative sugar companies nationwide would shortly be chosen to create comparable biogas projects to help sustainable rural industries under PM Modi’s direction with assistance from the National Cooperative Development Corporation (NCDC).
