India has retained its top position in the ODI and T20I rankings, continuing its dominance in white-ball cricket, while Australia remains the No.1 Test team in the latest ICC annual men’s ranking update. India strengthened its grip at the top of the ODI rankings, improving its rating points from 122 to 124, following a victorious ICC Champions Trophy campaign. New Zealand, the Champions Trophy runners-up, overtook Australia to claim the second spot, pushing Australia down to third place.
Sri Lanka, after strong performances at home, including ODI series wins against India and Australia, climbed to fourth place, leapfrogging Pakistan (fifth) and South Africa (sixth). Afghanistan also moved up to seventh, surpassing England, which dropped to eighth.
In T20Is, India remains at the top, although its lead over second-placed Australia has slightly reduced from 10 to 9 points. England, New Zealand, and West Indies round out the top five, while Sri Lanka continues its rise, overtaking Pakistan for seventh place.
Australia, the reigning World Test Championship holders, retained its No.1 ranking in Tests, though its lead was trimmed from 15 to 13 points. England made a big jump, moving into second place, overtaking both South Africa (third) and India (fourth).
The rest of the Test top 10 remains unchanged, with New Zealand (fifth), Sri Lanka (sixth), Pakistan (seventh), West Indies (eighth), Bangladesh (ninth), and Zimbabwe (tenth).
For the first time ever, the ICC annual update features 100 teams in the global T20I rankings, including all sides that have played a minimum of eight T20Is over the past three years.
India’s continued dominance in white-ball formats and Australia’s stronghold in Tests highlight the current balance of power in international cricket.
