HDFC Bank, under its CSR initiative #Parivartan, has launched a 10-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at GB Pant Hospital in the Andaman & Nicobar Islands. This strategic investment aims to elevate the hospital’s capacity for delivering advanced critical care, particularly to rural and underserved populations.
The state-of-the-art facility is equipped with modern medical technologies, including ventilators, multipara monitors, defibrillators, and syringe pumps, to ensure comprehensive patient care. The bank’s contribution includes essential equipment such as a Hamilton ventilator, BPL ECG machines, and fully motorized ICU cots. This upgrade is expected to significantly reduce mortality and morbidity rates by providing timely and effective care during emergencies.
Ms. Nusrat Pathan, Head CSR at HDFC Bank, highlighted the bank’s commitment to healthcare, stating, “This ICU underscores our dedication to enhancing critical healthcare infrastructure in underserved regions.”The inauguration ceremony was graced by top officials, including A&N Administration’s Chief Secretary, Mr. Keshav Chandra, and health department leaders. HDFC Bank, a top CSR spender in FY2023-24 with ₹945.31 crore allocated nationwide, continues to expand its impact, benefiting over 10 crore people across India.
