In response to the recent tragic terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir, Union Civil Aviation Minister Ram Mohan Naidu has acted swiftly to assist affected tourists and victims. The Ministry of Civil Aviation has rolled out a series of relief measures to ensure evacuation is carried out seamlessly, without imposing additional strain on those impacted.

Four special flights have been arranged from Srinagar, with two headed to Delhi and two to Mumbai. Additional flights are on standby to address further evacuation needs, aiming to provide a safe passage for tourists seeking to return home amid heightened security concerns and emotional distress after the attack.

Minister Naidu is personally overseeing the operations and has been in constant coordination with Union Home Minister Amit Shah and other key officials. His office is collaborating closely with the state government and local administrations to monitor and execute the relief efforts effectively.

To safeguard affected travelers, the Minister convened an emergency meeting with airline operators, issuing strict directives to prevent surge pricing. Airlines have been mandated to maintain standard fare levels and avoid exploiting passengers during this challenging time.

Moreover, the Ministry has instructed airlines to extend full cooperation in repatriating the deceased victims to their respective home states. State governments and district authorities are working together to facilitate respectful and timely transportation of the remains.

“The Ministry of Civil Aviation remains vigilant and deeply committed to providing all possible support to those affected by this heinous act,” said an official statement issued by the Ministry on Wednesday morning.
