The excitement surrounding Aamir Khan’s much-anticipated film Sitaare Zameen Par has reached a fever pitch as advance bookings officially opened today. The announcement was made by co-star Genelia Deshmukh through a vibrant social media video, where she declared, “Sitaare sirf zameen par nahi, screen par bhi chamkenge!” — signaling that the stars will shine not just on Earth, but on the big screen too.

Directed by R.S. Prasanna, the film is described as a spiritual successor to the 2007 classic Taare Zameen Par. It promises a heartwarming blend of love, laughter, and inspiration, as showcased in its widely praised trailer.

The film features Aamir Khan and Genelia Deshmukh in lead roles, alongside ten debutant actors introduced by Aamir Khan Productions. The music is composed by the acclaimed trio Shankar-Ehsaan-Loy, with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya. The screenplay is penned by Divy Nidhi Sharma.

Produced by Aamir Khan and Aparna Purohit, with B. Shrinivas Rao and Ravi Bhagchandka also on board, Sitaare Zameen Par is set for a theatrical release on June 20, 2025. Notably, the film will not be released on any OTT platform, as Aamir Khan has reportedly turned down a substantial streaming offer to preserve the theatrical experience.

Despite the buzz, early advance booking numbers have been modest, with just over 9,000 tickets sold across languages and a gross of ₹22 lakh within the first few hours. Industry watchers suggest the film may rely heavily on word-of-mouth and weekend footfall to gain momentum.
