Mumbai, July 14 — Prime Video has released the first look of The Revolutionaries, a highly anticipated period drama starring Rohit Saraf, Pratibha Ranta, and Bhuvan Bam in lead roles. Directed by Nikkhil Advani and produced by Emmay Entertainment, the series is adapted from Sanjeev Sanyal’s acclaimed book Revolutionaries: The Other Story Of How India Won Its Freedom.
Set against the backdrop of India’s independence movement, the show centers on young freedom fighters who believed armed resistance was essential to ending British colonial rule. The teaser, shared on Prime Video’s social media platforms, offers a gripping glimpse into the lives of these unsung patriots, showcasing intense action sequences and emotionally charged moments.
Advani described the project as a “deeply enriching and enlightening experience,” crediting Sanyal’s book for providing a compelling foundation to tell these untold stories. “We’ve assembled an exceptional cast and crew who are fully immersed in the spirit of this narrative,” he said, highlighting the ensemble that also includes Gurfateh Pirzada and Jason Shah.
The series is currently in production, with filming underway across multiple Indian cities including Mumbai, Amritsar, Varanasi, and Dehradun. Prime Video confirmed that The Revolutionaries will premiere in 2026 across more than 240 countries and territories.
Nikhil Madhok, Director and Head of Originals at Prime Video India, emphasized the platform’s commitment to showcasing India’s rich historical legacy. “This is a highly ambitious and meaningful project that honors the courage and sacrifice of lesser-known revolutionaries,” he stated.
