The Directorate of Information, Publicity & Tourism (IP&T), Andaman & Nicobar Administration has released draft guidelines for the operation of All Terrain Vehicles (ATVs) across the Islands. These guidelines aim to regulate adventure tourism while ensuring environmental sustainability and public safety.

The draft outlines key operational standards, including mandatory registration of ATV operators, designated riding zones, safety gear requirements, vehicle maintenance protocols, and training for guides and drivers. It emphasizes the need to avoid ecologically sensitive areas and encourages responsible tourism practices.

Stakeholders, including tourism operators, environmental groups, and residents, are invited to review the draft and submit feedback. The guidelines are available on the official tourism website, and the feedback window will remain open for a limited period before final implementation.

This initiative reflects the Administration’s commitment to balancing tourism growth with ecological preservation and community engagement.
