The love for debutants Ahaan Panday and Anit Padda starrer “Saiyaaraa” is growing day by day, along with its box office figures. The Mohit Suri directorial has been receiving a lot of praise from the audience and the film industry. Several Bollywood celebrities including Karan Johar, Aamir Khan, Akshay Kumar, Shraddha Kapoor, Alia Bhatt and Varun Dhawan have praised Ahaan and Anit’s performances on social media. Now, in a recent interview, composer Tanishk Bagchi who composed the popular title track of “Saiyaaraa” opened up about recording it with the lead actors.
Speaking to News18 Showsha, he revealed that both Ahaan and Anit were present in the studio during the recording of the song. “I first met Ahaan at Yash Raj Films when we were recording the title track. He is a very humble guy. He has no heroic tantrums and no attitude. He is also a brilliant actor. At that time, I didn’t get a glimpse of his acting but I liked his energy and presence,” he said.
“Later when I met him and Anit, I told them that my intuition is telling me that this film is going to be very big. I already had a feeling that they will become very big stars. I also told them that when you grow up, don’t forget where you came from. A lot of people see success and fame and then start flying and become very different. I have seen a lot of people rise and fall suddenly,” Tanishk added.
The composer also spoke about his reaction after seeing Ahaan singing his song onscreen. He said, “When I saw the film, I realised that Mohit sir trained him exactly the way he did. He followed his director step by step. He has that quality. I hope he keeps his head down and works hard. He is very lucky to have a mentor like Mohit sir in his very first film. I also told him that you guys are innocent kids, so maintain that.”
Tanishk Bagchi also revealed that the title song of Saiyaara had two versions of the video and Ahaan Panday was amazing in both. “One was the theatre one and the other was like a montage. Mohit sir showed me both. When I saw these videos, I felt that the music suited Ahaan perfectly. It always feels good to create new songs for new faces,” he said.
He compared the actor to the late Rishi Kapoor, who made an entire generation go crazy over his romantic hero avatar. “I remember watching Rishi Kapoor sir. When he played the guitar or the piano, he would play it like he knew how to play it. His sync was so good. This is a skill that every actor should have. Mohit sir gave this skill to Ahaan and it showed. Kya attitude hai uska in the film! I am telling you, Ahaan is going to be our next big star,” he concluded.
Produced by Aditya Chopra’s Yash Raj Films, Saiyaaraa has now crossed the Rs 300 crore mark at the worldwide box office. The film also stars Geeta Agarwal, Rajesh Kumar, Varun Badola and Shaad Randhawa in pivotal roles.
