The Budget Session of Parliament has resumed, and the Opposition is intensifying its focus on alleged irregularities in electoral rolls. They are demanding a discussion on issues such as duplicate Electoral Photo Identity Cards (EPICs) and delimitation. The Opposition has raised concerns about multiple EPICs with identical numbers and has staged protests in both the Lok Sabha and Rajya Sabha to press for a debate.

The government, on the other hand, is prioritizing the passage of the Budget and key bills, including the Finance Bill and the Waqf Amendment Bill. The session is expected to witness heated debates, with the Opposition also raising issues like the National Education Policy (NEP) and the ongoing violence in Manipur.

The Trinamool Congress has taken the lead in flagging the EPIC issue, while the DMK is pushing for a discussion on delimitation. The Election Commission has acknowledged the concerns and promised corrective measures within three months. Meanwhile, the government has defended its stance, accusing the Opposition of attempting to disrupt parliamentary proceedings.
